codb2 ssh connect reset

I can not connect codb2 currently.

I haven't been able to use d-thinker.org email this morning. The server mx.d-thinker.org is slow or irresponsive when my email client connects from HK (i-cables and HKBN).

I tried to pull code from origin/rc of greppyweb, but I failed. I am guardian of codb2, but I also can not connect this VM. It seems that some problem in its host.

I tried to view my Bugzilla page at "http://t.zettadom.com:13280/bugzilla/" for several times but Firefox gave me the following error:

"Unable to connect
Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at t.zettadom.com:13280.

I can ping "t.zettadom.com" successfully.

It seems that "./update_dns.sh" will add the new record correctly but do not remove the old one:

After changing "curl ifconfig.me" (this gave me an error) to "curl http://www.pkill.info/whoami/myip/" (as suggested in Eric's reply), I followed Amoner's instruction and `dig` worked correctly:

But after I changed $ip in "update_dns.sh" and ran it again, `dig` gave me the following result:

dthinker.org NS settings

I check the NameServer settings of dthinker.org. The settings seems a little big strange:

$ host -t NS dthinker.org
dthinker.org name server master.dthinker.org.

$ host -t A master.dthinker.org
master.dthinker.org has address 115.231.209.242

To resolve master.dthinker.org, need to query dthinkerer.org's NS. The NS is itself. This seems a infinite loop here.

But the dthinker.org seems working just well by the time I check 20150821 10:53.

So, is my understanding wrong, or do I miss some settings here?

Frequent queries of status info

In some settings, we need to frequently query the status of a thinker. For example, the NGSCloud needs to know if a thinker is still running, and the thinker is behind a firewall -- the querying entity and the thinker are at different parts of the Internet. The current solution using SSH to periodically connecting into the thinker and running 'dt status' is quite iffy.

We'd better have a mechanism for efficient and reliable status query across the Internet.
