Slots [TODO]
In a thinker, there can be up to 256 slots on each node. Each slot can accommodate one container.

TODO: Update D-book.

----
20161119/gl: Turn this thread into the info about slots.

I think it's a good idea.

I remember one DT already supports 512(or 1024) slots(maybe wrong memory), then it means just extend the slot support in one DT?, if one DT max support 10000 and if one node is just one DT then this node can own max 10000 slots, or it should share the total number of slot with other nodes in one DT, So you mean "one node can support 1024 slots when total-slot-num-in-one-DT/total-node-num >= 1024" I am not sure if my understanding is right.

One dt can ONLY support 512 slots? I think we did 1024-way parallel GLAD processing so the number of VPCs must be more than 1000 and there are thus more than 1000 slots used.

Or you mean the slot number can be up to 512/1024? But the problem is that slot 0 and slot 64 will have conflict.

The current proposal is just for one nodes to support 1024 slots.

Sorry, I mix container and slot....

RE: [FR] Container supports more than 64 slots
I am implementing it by dividing the port number by 4 to get the slot number in cod://dt/src/parameters.cc.

Currently, the supported slot number on one node is 256.

I am turning this thread into the topic thread about slots.

We should update the D-book which is the master info source about this.
