What about mariadb( https://github.com/MariaDB/server ), From Fedora 20 the default db is changed to mariadb from mysql because some communities think oracle is closing the open source door of mysql and they created a new branch of mysql called mariadb.

the mysql source code is just a tar(with/without compress) file with certain version, I am thinking how to add it to cod and I think it's not flexible if there's new version we may need to update the links in cod by manual.

I slightly prefer PostgreSQL.

Then let's stick to mysql. Pls add it to cod.
