Arga RDBMS part - PostgreSQL vs MySQL
Dear all,

For the RDBMS part, we have two choices: one is the most popular open-sourced database -MySQL and another is PostgreSQL.

Let make some comparisons between these two candidates:

1). Performance
Please ref to https://www.percona.com/blog/2017/01/06/...https://www.percona.com/blog/2017/01/06/millions-queries-per-second-postgresql-and-mysql-peaceful-battle-at-modern-demanding-

I think the performance comparison should be the latest thing to discuss. The performance gap is very small between these two mature RDBMS.

2). License
PostgreSQL has an MIT-style license that allows us to do anything, including commercial use in open or closed source. However, it is a different story with MySQL. It uses GPL. We must make the source available to the public.

We are willing to open-source and this will also make it easier to collaborate with universities. Pls go ahead with mysql.
