- for HD's serial number, our serial number is <prefix> + the string is <hd item's serial number>. Example: say WDS05FN is the SN of one HD and the ID segments for the above 1-4 section according to our rule is SFP20150203, then it's ID will be SFP20150203WDS05FN.

I suggest making the latest added string an optional component of the ID. So we may do this too for other kinds of parts. Changes are marked above.
